Single Head Notcher
Here is a simple, easy-to-use single-head notcher that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It's excellent for used stringers.
The standard machine comes with a 12" diameter, 9" wide carbide-tipped, indexable cutting head. Using Nailbuster tips, this is the notcher of choice for recycled stringers where nails may be present.
One man can produce 300 or more notched stringers per hour. In fact, the limitation is with the man, not the machine.
The notch depth is set by moving adjustable brackets on each side of the head. The distance of the notch from the end of the stringer is adjusted using the bracket on the left hand side of the machine. The stringer is inserted into a pivotable clamp and is then moved into the head. Flip the stringer, and repeat the process.
By setting up your own set of angled brackets and stops, you can corner clip boards or stringers on this machine.
