Block Cutter

Block CutterWith block pallets gaining in popularity, you need an efficient way to cut blocks. That's why I'm offering this patented machine to my customers.

High Production, One-man Operation
I was impressed by the production rates of the Samuel Kent Baker Block Cutter. It easily produces from 2,000 to 2,500 blocks per hour with only one man. Plus, it uses largely scrap material. The variable speed drive allows you to adjust the speed.

Capacities
The capacities on these machines are suitable for almost any operation. Our standard Block Cutter accepts material up to 4" by 6"random length. It can be set to make cuts from 2 1/2" to 8" in length. If you need other capacities, let us know. We can probably accommodate you.

How It Works
One thing I liked about this Block Cutter is that it does not require air or hydraulics. The action is mechanical. As the saw moves in and back, stops come into place to set the length of cut and to hold the block firmly. The bottom stop then releases, allowing the cut portion to drop onto the conveyor below.

Compact Size
The compact size of this Block Cutter (52" wide and 120" long including the conveyor) will allow you to set it almost anywhere in your shop. For shipping, the machine folds to a compact 52"X50 1⁄4"X46" and weighs approximately 800 lbs, allowing it to be easily shipped on motor freight anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Call for prices.

Long Blade Life
The carbon-tipped, 18" saw blade provides extra long life. The arbor is 1".

Complete Electrical
The complete electrical package includes a NEMA12 panel for an extra tight box. Starters and controls are built right into the panel. The saw is driven by a 15 horsepower motor. The stroke and block conveyor operate off of a 1 horsepower motor. Both motors carry a 5 year factory warranty.
If you need a block cutter, I would recommend this fine machine for your operation.

The Samuel Kent Baker Block Cutter gives you a very quick
payback time. Let's do the math.

  1. Most people cut from 200 to 300blocks per hour on a conventional chop saw or radial arm saw.
  2. Our Block Cutter owners report averaging 2,000 to 2,500 blocks per hour.
  3. Average labor costs(with all costs counted) average around $10 per hour.
Savings of $60 per hour

Using the preceding figures...
Samuel Kent Baker Block Cutter: 2,100 blocks per hour.
Conventional Saw: 300 blocks per hour.
This amounts to 7 times more production per hour.
At $10 per hour labor, that"s a savings of $60 per hour.
Our basic Block Cutter will pay for itself in less than 4weeks of use.

Save over $230 per load

Another way to look at this is by total blocks needed per load.
Most block pallets require 9 blocks.
A load of 900 pallets will require 8,100 blocks (9X900 =8,100).
The conventional method costs$.033 per block ($10/300).
Our Block Cutter costs $.0047619 per block ($10/2100)
Using these figures, your labor cost per load is...
Conventional method: $269.73(.033 X8100)
Our Block Cutter: $38.07 (.0047 X8100)

Your savings per load is $231.66

Few machines offer payback times as short as this. You can’t go wrong buying a Samuel Kent Baker Block Cutter.
